First Flight
Trip/Archer
In the version we saw onscreen, Trip greets Jon and T'Pol on their return from the nebula and asks if it was a good show. Jon replies "You should have been there" and Trip sarcastically says "I'll remember to ask next time," knowing full well that he already had asked. Trip then exits and the scene is completed with just Jon and T'Pol. It is T'Pol who suggests that the nebula be named after A.G. Robinson.
As it is written here the conversation is between Jon and Trip- a nice quiet moment of two friends talking, cementing the bond the two men share. Once again, we wonder why the Archer/Tucker scenes are the first to be changed or cut.
FIRST FLIGHT
ACT 4 last scene Launch Bay
As T'Pol moves off... Archer emerges.
Trip and Archer talk as they move toward through the bay, heading for the exit.
TRIP: Captain...
ARCHER: Anything happen while we were gone?
TRIP: (shakes his head) Nothing as interesting as what happened to you.
I got a preliminary look at your dark matter data...
ARCHER: It was quite a sight.
TRIP: I wish I'd been there...
Archer stops near the door - - he's got something on his mind. He looks at Trip.
ARCHER: Trip... I had a thought... (beat) It's customary, when a discovery is made,
for those that made it to be allowed to name it...
TRIP: You mean like, the "Archer/T'Pol Dark Matter Nebula"?
ARCHER: I was thinking... A.G. Robinson...
Trip considers this... and agrees.
TRIP: That'd be quite a tribute...Archer nods.
As they EXIT.
