Sim-Trip/Archer/Phlox/Porthos
This scene, which was never filmed, would have occurred between the scene in the messhall where young Sim-Trip is taking something apart, and the scene with Sim-Trip and Archer in Archer's quarters.
We would love to have seen "exasperated parent" Phlox chasing after Sim-Trip, illustrating that our beloved engineer must have been quite a handful as a child. He certainly didnšt outgrow that characteristic!

ACT TWO (continued)
INT. CORRIDOR
Archer is making his way down the corridor when Porthos
comes scampering around the corner, a rubber toy in his
mouth. Archer crouches down.
ARCHER
Whoa...where do you think you're
off to?
Now, Sim-Trip (age 8) runs up.
SIM-TRIP
I was trying to teach him to
fetch...
Archer scoops Porthos up in his arms.
ARCHER
Don't take it personally.
(scratching Porthos)
Fetching isn't his style.
Now Phlox come jogging up, somewhat out of breath.
PHLOX
Sorry, Captain. I was in the
middle of giving Porthos his check-
up...I only turned my back for a
moment...
ARCHER
It's all right.
(re: Porthos)
He okay?
PHLOX
Yes indeed...he's in peak
physical condition...
(checking his pulse)
...which is more than I can say
for myself.
Archer crouches down to Sim-Trip.
ARCHER
I think it's time for his dinner.
You want to help me feed him?
SIM-TRIP
Sure.
ARCHER
Come on...
Archer hands Porthos off to Sim-Trip and the two of them
head off down the hall.
