Similitude
Sim-Trip/Archer
Here we have additional dialogue which was cut from the aired version. It highlights the fact that even as a boy Trip was a mechanical genius with a knack for fixing things.
SIMILITUDE
ACT TWO (cont.)
INT. LAUNCH BAY TWO (OPTICAL)
Archer and Sim-Trip are flying the reassembled starship
model. Sim-Trip works the remote control while Archer
gently coaches him.
ARCHER
Keep the nose up... that's
right...
The starship model banks gracefully around the launch
bay. Porthos bounds along beneath it, barking happily.
SIM-TRIP
It pulls a little to the left...
ARCHER
Trim the port aileron...
SIM-TRIP
(works the control)
That feels better...
ARCHER
To tell you the truth, I wasn't
sure it would get off the ground.
(beat)
That was some good work you did
reassembling the anti-grav motor.
SIM-TRIP
It was easy. I fixed my dad's
ocean skimmer once. He was about
to replace the whole engine until
I figured out the suspensor coil
was out of phase.
ARCHER
He was lucky to have you around.
SIM-TRIP
My dad says I should be an
engineer.... (the scene continues as it appeared on screen)
