We also see T'Pol's concern for Sim and that she compliments him on a job well done. Hmm. Does she regret not having given Trip more compliments?

INT. ENGINEERING - CLOSE ON A MONITOR
A medical database on Lyssarian Desert larvae. We
recognize a diagram of the larvae, along with bio-stats
and charts.
WIDEN TO FIND Sim-Trip standing near an exposed panel,
which he is ignoring in favor of the information
displayed on the monitor.
T'Pol ENTERS, spots Sim-Trip and goes over.
T'POL
Your shift ended ninety minutes
ago.
SIM-TRIP
Just want to get these initiators
in place.
He goes back to work on the exposed panel.
T'POL
You've been working for eighteen
straight hours.
SIM-TRIP
If you had five days left, would
you spend them sleeping?
She doesn't answer.
SIM-TRIP
(wry)
Besides, tomorrow morning, I'm
walking into Sickbay to donate
some of my "unneeded" neural
tissue...
(beat)
Which means pretty soon I'll be
answering to the real Trip...and
if I know him, he's going to want
these engines in as good a shape
as they can be...
She moves on to what she came to say:

She notices the medical database on the monitor.

research...mostly on life spans.

history, human beings lived an
average of only thirty-five years?
The average Vulcan life span was

Just that both species expend a
lot of effort to change those
statistics.

I guess it's just natural for
people to want to stick around for
as long as possible.
